Our lovely Bootie (ful) joined our family when she was seven weeks old. She is a Poacher daughter out of a lovely liver bitch named Tilly and she has a good pedigree with some lovely old lines. I fell in love with her when we went to visit the litter when they were four weeks old - she just had to be ours!!
She is small, smart, sassy, soft and sometimes silly, all wrapped up in a very cuddly bundle. She is great fun and has settled in really well with all the other dogs and plays like a tom boy with Drummer, giving as good as she gets!!
We thoroughly enjoyed her puppyhood which as usual flew by and during which we were having fun laying the all important foundations for our working relationship together.
We started 2014 with an introduction to agility and then moved on to flyball training; a sport in which Bootie shows much promise. We were very proud when she made her flyball debut by competing as the team height dog for the Hampshire Hicks at the British Flyball Association National Championships in August 2014 and her team came first in their Division, bringing home a lovely rosette and a glass trophy. Bootie now has her paws on the flyball points ladder and has her first Flyball Dog Certificate and we are fast approaching our next goal.
In January 2015 Bootie and I attended a Talking Dogs Scentwork(R) Level One workshop all to do with teaching the dog to search for a particular scent. The result is that we are now totally addicted to the scent game and during 2015 have worked our way up to Level 5 as a Talking Dogs Scentwork (R) team and in November 2015 we took our Level 6 Handler Accreditation Level and passed with flying colours. Our next goal is Talking Dogs Scentwork(R) Accredited Trainer.
We are hosting Talking Dogs Scentwork(R) Workshops during 2016 so that others can join in our addiction.
